‘The Pope’s Exorcist’!
Highly fictionalized, silly, dumb, but highly entertaining.😂😂😂
I held it highly fictionalized, since it was based on the memoirs of Rev. Gabrielle Amorth, a Catholic priest and an exorcist for the Vatican, from 1986 to 2016. Most of the scenes were not in accord with reality, that at a point, I had to question if the storyline was exactly as experienced by the real Gabrielle Amorth, during his exorcism at Spain. Since they were recreating a real life experience, they should have added a touch of reality to the movie, as opposed those out-of-the-world plots!
Also, from what I’ve gathered from exorcism movies, exorcism is a highly serious business. Considering its serious nature, exorcism movies do not fall into horror-comics. They are always stiff, solid, serious, and suspenseful.
But guess what? I laughed my way through the movie, with ease, that at some point, my mom had to peep into my room to ensure all was well.😂😂😂 Not my fault, anyway. For you cannot watch the silly characters, particularly that of the demon possessed Henry, talk, and you wouldn’t crack a rib! It was as if the screenwriter was bored of the usual stiff atmosphere of exorcism movies, hence, vowed to effect a change, by writing this very movie, purposefully giving it a serious name, but, contrarily, charging the characters to ensure there was nothing so serious about the movie.😂😂
So comical. Highly entertaining! Silly two characters, who ended up compromising the serious nature of exorcism.
Honestly, you need to watch that demon possessed Henry, if you were having a bad day or even night. Phew!😂😂😂
